Research on living arrangements for people with intellectual disability has moved beyond deinstitutionalization toward seeking to better understand community living. This development has been paralleled by investigation of a much wider range of outcomes and by examination of more complex issues regarding the interaction between service-user characteristics, features of services, and outcomes. In this paper we will report on aspects of our contribution to this research endeavor over the last 15 years.
