2012-2013 Leadership Report

The following members were elected to their leadership positions June 5, 2012, in accordance with Article IX of the PICPA Bylaws.

PICPA Officers

PICPA officers serve one-year terms expiring in 2013, except the president-elect, who will serve as the 2013-2014 president.

President
Robert C. Jazwinski
Bob is the founder and president of JFS Wealth Advisors LLC in Hermitage. He serves on the State Steering, Budget and Finance, Bylaws, and Education committees. He is also chair of PICPA's Foundation Board of Directors.

President-Elect
Robert F. Firely Jr.
Bob is partner in charge of the accounting and auditing department with Herbein + Company Inc. in Reading. He serves on PICPA's Foundation Board of Directors, the Budget and Finance Committee, and the Member Services Committee. Bob is past president of the Reading Chapter.

Vice President
Joseph M. Alu
Joe is a shareholder with Joseph M. Alu and Associates PC in Scranton. He has chaired CPA Image Enhancement committees for the Northeastern Chapter and on the state level. Joe is past president of the Northeastern Chapter.

Vice President
Jerry J. Maginnis
Jerry is managing partner for KPMG LLP's Philadelphia office. He is a member of the State Steering and Legislation committees, and the CPA-PAC.

Treasurer
Julius C. Green
Julius is a partner and director of exempt organization tax services with ParenteBeard LLC in Philadelphia. He serves as chair of the Budget and Finance and Diversity committees.

Elizabeth W. Kidd
Liz is the director of financial services for St. Benedict Education Center in Erie. She serves on the Members in Business and Industry Committee and the CPA Statute Revision Task Force. Liz is the immediate past president of the Erie Chapter and chair of the Erie Chapter Nominations Committee.

Paul A. Mavrinac
Paul is a partner with ParenteBeard LLC in Pittsburgh. He serves on the Member Services Committee, which he co-chairs on the chapter level, and the Employee Benefits Plan Committee. He also serves on the Pittsburgh Chapter Practitioners and Community Involvement committees. Paul is past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter.

Thomas J. Rennie
Tim is the owner of Thomas J. Rennie CPA in Ligonier. He serves on the Member Services Committee, which he chairs on the chapter level, and the Southwestern Chapter Schools and Colleges Committee. He is also past president of the Southwestern Chapter.

Stephen J. Scherf
Steve is a principal with Asterion Inc. in Philadelphia. He serves on the Business Valuation Committee, the Forensic and Litigation Services Committee, and the Greater Philadelphia Chapter Cooperation with the Bar Committee. He is immediate past president of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter and chair of its Nominations Committee.

Michelle L. Ward
Michelle is a supervisor with Reinsel Kuntz Lesher LLP in Wyomissing. She serves on the Reading Chapter Emerging CPAs Committee, Cooperation with the Bar Committee, and co-chairs the Lifestyles and Family Issues Committee. Michelle is chair of the Reading Chapter Past Presidents Committee.

Scholarship Fund Trustee

New trustee, serving a five-year term expiring in 2017.

Kathleen M. Wallace
Kathleen is a partner with the Catanese Group PC in Johnstown. She serves on the Employee Benefits Plan Committee and CPA Statute Revision Task Force.

Professional Ethics Committee
New members to the committee, serving three-year terms expiring in 2015.

Ryan S. Brosius
Ryan is a partner with Malin, Bergquist & Co. LLP in Erie. He serves on the Erie Chapter Schools and Colleges and Nominations committees. Ryan is a past president of the Erie Chapter.

William G. Engelbret
Bill is an associate professor of accounting, business, and engineering at Penn State Altoona. He has chaired the Education, Technology, Nominations, and Schools and Colleges committees. He has also served on the Long-Range Objectives and Members in Business and Industry committees.

Jeffrey K. Herr
Jeff is senior vice president-corporate services manager of National Penn Investors Trust Company in Allentown. He serves on the Personal Financial Planning Committee at both the state and chapter levels, and is on the Lehigh Valley Thanksgiving Benefit Committee. Jeff is the immediate past president of the Lehigh Valley Chapter and chair of its Nominations Committee.

Jennifer L. Rhea
Jenn is a senior manager with Parente- Beard LLC in Williamsport. She serves on the Schools and Colleges Committee, which she chairs on the chapter level, and on the North Central Chapter Nominations and Executive committees. Jenn is past president of the North Central Chapter.

Francis X. Ryan
Frank is the president of F. X. Ryan & Associates Ltd. in Lebanon. He specializes in corporate reorganizations and turnaround, as well as crisis management.

William G. Koch Jr.
Bill is a shareholder with William G. Koch & Associates in Wyomissing. He serves on the Legislation and Accounting and Auditing Procedures committees. Bill is past president of the Reading Chapter.

Nicholas F. Paolini
Nick is director of the New Castle operations of Packer Thomas. He is a past president of the Northwestern Chapter.

Barry H. Williams
Barry is dean of the William G. McGowan School of Business at King's College in Wilkes-Barre. He serves on the CPA Image Enhancement Committee and the Northeastern Chapter Schools and Colleges Committee. Barry is past president of the Northeastern Chapter.

Carlo is an assistant professor of accounting at Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley. He serves on the International Financial Reporting Standards Committee and co-chairs the Schools and Colleges Committee on the state level.

Rose is a manager with Regan, Levin, Bloss, Brown & Savchak PC in Allentown.
She serves on the CPA Image Enhancement Committee, Act 32 Collection Task Force, and the Lehigh Valley Chapter Thanksgiving Benefit Committee.
