FOR YOUR PRACTICE Where are Y U Make sure consumers can find your practice… for FREE! More than 25,000 web visitors each year view Academy members’ practice details through our Find a Periodontist (FaP) service. Can they find you? This free member tool is such a fundamental and high-yielding marketing service that it should be the first (and probably easiest!) step a periodontist takes to promote his or her practice. Available to Active, Life Active, and International members at no cost, the FaP service lets you decide what information gets shared with patients. And, conveniently located on every consumer-facing page on Perio.org , FaP is the first resource a web visitor will use to search for a periodontist in their area after they have read more about periodontics on our website. Where Are You?

Make sure consumers can find your practice… for FREE!

And, conveniently located on every consumerfacing page on Perio.org, FaP is the first resource a web visitor will use to search for a periodontist in their area after they have read more about periodontics on our website.

Is my practice automatically included in FaP?

No. You decide whether or not to participate, and what practice information is made available to consumers. Not every member wants his or her practice to accept patient self-referrals.

Is my FaP profile automatically updated when I tell the AAP that I have moved?

No. Your listing is ONLY updated when you make a change to the FaP form.

How do I change my FaP form?

To join FaP or update your listing, click the orange "Member Login" button in the top right corner of any page on Perio.org. After you log in, you will be on the Member Resources page, where you can locate the "Find a Periodontist" section and click the link to "Edit your FaP listing." Or, you can follow this path: Perio.org > Members. The FaP section is in the middle of the page, towards the bottom.

When you have finished updating your information, click the "Update" button at the bottom to send it to our server. You may want to enter your zip code in the FaP search to be sure your practice comes up in the results and your listing is correct.

What can be included in a FaP listing?

Like in the example shown, your FaP profile can include:

• Addresses and phone numbers of up to three different office locations per member

• A Google map of each office location

• Clickable links to email the office and visit the practice website

• Information on professional certification, memberships, awards and honors, and hospital privileges

• Degrees earned and schools attended

• Practice philosophy/goals, office hours, type of practice (e.g., solo, group, specialist, etc.)

• Treatment options

• Foreign languages spoken

For guidelines on how to ensure that your FaP listing stands out among the search results, review the "FaP Listing Tips" located at Perio.org > Members.

For questions about FaP or to make a change to your AAP membership record, contact the Membership Department at 800/282/4867 ext. 3269, email member.services@perio.org, or visit Perio.org > Members > Member Service Center to update your membership record online.
